Association between lichen planus and dyslipidemia: an experience from North India

Association between lichen planus (LP) and dyslipidaemia other cardiovascular risk factors has been reported in many studies the past, with variable results studies.
 The aim: this study was undertaken to association of dyslipidaemia.
 Methods: a prospective hospital-based case control conducted over period three years, on 105 newly diagnosed male patients equal number age sex matched controls. Fasting serum lipid profile including total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C), low-density (LDL-C) very (VLDL-C) were measured, comparison done cases controls.
 Results: found 44 (41.9 %) (cases) as compared 28 (26.7 controls, difference being statistically significance (p 0.020). Triglycerides, cholesterol, LDL VLDL significantly higher than whereas values abdominal circumference body mass index (BMI), although more controls not significant. Similarly, HDL-cholesterol less but without statistical significance.
 Conclusion: common patients, suggesting that LP are at developing derangements lipids should be routinely regularly monitored for factors, detect diseases well time. result present strengthens evidence dyslipidaemia.
